Heavenly Hats - School wide Community Service Project

Heavenly Hats Image.png

On October 9, 2015, MMS will be participating in our first school wide community service project - Heavenly Hats.

Heavenly Hats Foundation is a charity that provides new headwear of all kinds to cancer patients who lose their hair due to their treatment.  In 2001, a ten year old boy named Anthony Leanna started the Heavenly Hats Foundation in honor of his grandmother.  Since then, over 2,300,000 brand new hats have been donated to cancer patients nationwide.

At Moreland Middle School, we want to help every patient who is in need of headwear for warmth, comfort, courage, and strength.  Students can wear a hat if they bring a dollar to donate on Friday, October 9, 2015.

New for 2015!

Wednesday Schedule for 2015-2016

We are excited to announce that in 2015-2016, Moreland Middle School will have an “Early Release”Wednesday schedule instead of a “Late Start.”  This means that our students will attend school on Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 1:20 PM beginning next year. This schedule will allow MMS to be in alignment with the elementary schools.  In addition, the early release schedule provides time for teachers to collaborate at MMS and with our other middle school teachers at EDS and/or Latimer.

In the meantime, please remember that all students will start school at 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday beginning the first day of school, Thursday, August 20, 2015.
